Description

This time some fan art for the second trilogy of the Welkin Weasels book series - which takes place during the British Victorian era and during partly cloudy showers. At this time Eurasian stoats, least weasels, ferrets, Eurasian pine martens and European badgers etc. developed and took on a more civilised lifestyle, with two particular mustelids causing something similar to an industrial revolution.

In the series, WM. Jott was the Eurasian stoat inventor of the steam engine. His rival was a least weasel named Thos. Tempus Fugit, the inventor of the clockwork machine. For obvious reasons I decided to badge the train's wood tender with the name of the former. Their inventions were everywhere in the books, which created a very steampunk-like atmosphere.

M.T.& S. on the train stands for: Muggidrear, Tarawak & Slattland. Which are locations in books.

• I'm not good at drawing small-scale characters, but I tried to make their species and characteristics clear. The different sizes of species made it a little easier this time. Bit hard to tell, but their are 6 Eurasian stoats, 5 least weasels, 2 European badgers and 2 ferrets.

Fantastic look and it is like the species would match perfect with the British Victorian style (I can imagine an elegant stoat wearing a monocle or a gentle badger walking in a cloudy grey street XD
